First Blood.

Liam is so amazing. Just recently when he attempted to climb up on the bed he sliped and hit his teeth and gum on the wood. He only cried for about 30 seconds and I was so relieved when he stoped because I freaked out when I saw him bleeding out of his mouth!! In this picture you can see that he is already smiling again even though the tears and the blood have not dried up yet. He is the best child in the world.

standing, clapping Liam!

Since about a week Liam is pulling himself up on his feet and since he figured out how to do that he does it non stop! He wants to climb on everything and always goes for the flowerpots. Just yesterday he learned how to clap his hands and now he wakes up clapping and goes to sleep clapping! He is 10 month old today and I can not believe it! Not only does that mean that we only have two month left before celebrating his first Birthday but also that he has discovered this world just as long as I carried him inside of me (-; remember that he was two weeks to late!
In a little over a week my best Friend Susi is going to visit us and I am really looking forward to seeing her again! Hope Y'ALL (as they say in the South) are enjoying the spring!

vacationing a whole new way!

Yes, a whole new vacation experience. Thats what it is when you travel with a 9 month old or I should put it this way, when you travel with a child. So far I was used to just travel with Lance or by myself but those days have gone and what stays is the memory. Little did I know that one day I will have to share 2 thirds of my suitcase with my little man's stuff. I hardly even think of what I will be wearing but make sure he has all the right outfits (-; It does not seize to amaze me how many things such a little person already needs. whenever we left the hotel I could be sure that I forgot at least one thing. Pacifier, ricepuffs and teether are all essential items now but the worst case szenario is when I forget the diaper (-; Gone are the days that make you run towards the ocean to jump in once you reach the beach. Instead I better make sure that Liam is coverd with sunscreen from head to toe, keep him from taking off his sunhat and try my very best to keep him from eating sand! oh yes and sitting in the shade the whole day is a new experience for me too. Needless to say that I loved the moments of pure relaxation when we took the crib from the hotelroom and Liam actually took his naps at the pool. I am really not looking for compassion and for everyone that has seen our pictures I don't think that I would get any anyway. Of course we had a wonderful vacation and I would have missed Liam terribly if he would not have been with us but it is a totally different kind of vacation now and every parent has been there and knows that. I could just tell whenever I saw other parents pushing strollers or walking with their kids you smile at each other and there is this connection. It's like "welcome to our world". The best lesson of parenting learned so far is probably that there is no more "me, me, me!" but instead there is Liams needs first (as long as it is sleeping, changing or eating) and I am sorry Lance if I have not learned that in the past 3 and a half years we have been married(-;

It's Spring in South Carolina!

The weather has been so georgeous lately! The other day we were outside the whole day and took some pictures of Liam dressed in his Baseball outfit before it gets to small already (-; It is so easy to take good pictures of him. I am actually happy to have a couple of pictures where he is not smiling (-; Have I mentioned that he is finally sitting on his own now? he loves opening all our drawers and likes eating paper. He looooves eating and occationally makes funny faces while doing so. Tomorrow he will be 9 month old already. Hard to believe that he has been outside now as long as he has been on the inside. Oh what joy he has brought to our lifes.

Lance and I are both excited about our upcoming trip to Cancun. It is just a 2 and a half h flight from us. We will have an all inclusive vacation in a 4 star resort! Life is good.

For The Record!

Liam waved at me for the first time on January 19th! It was adorable.

Everyday when Lance leaves for work we go to the door and tell him good bye with a little wave. And all of a sudden he did it! It is great to see him learn more and more.

Thankfully he is feeling much better and only has to get over his cough. After the stomach bug he developed an ear infection and a terrible cough. It was the first time he was sick and difficult to see. I gave him an extra portion of love and sufferd with him (-;

In the midst of all that he got his 2 upper teeth!! I will post some pictures soon. Here is one of his first 2 teeth!

HAPPY 2011 EVERYONE!
Our Christmas vacation was great! We had a fabulous time hanging out with the family! I love being around so many people so it is a good thing that Lance has a huge family. Turns out that Liam is a big people person too and the more there are the more he lights up. It was nice for me getting a little "break" because everyone wanted to hold Liam.
It is really cold here in South Carolina right now and you would not expect winter weather like this. Obviously the city does not either because they do not have any snow removal equipment so all school was cancelled for 3 days and Lance did not have to work either (-; Nice advantage of living in the Palmetto State! At the moment our poor little man is sick (stomach bug) and I hope he feels better soon.

It is hard to believe that I am thirty years old now!! I remember thinking that a person that age was old when I was 18 and now ...well, I better lay down and get some beauty sleep.
Good Night.

Christmas Is Celebrating Christ The Savior

It has been a while again and I realize that I have never written about the wonderful time Lance, Liam and I had in Scotland, but he did so you can read about it here. It was great to be able to see family and to spend a whole month in Germany in October.

Liam continues to change daily. He has two bottom teeth, which look very cute, but are also the reason for some fussiness during the day. It seems like he is only a step away from crawling all over the house because he is rolling like a ball and the diaper changes became a major challenge for me. (-; Liam recently discovered the body parts bellow his belly button (Nov.28) and still wakes up once a night.

It is hard to believe that he will be 7 months old on Christmas day. We are just one week away from celebrating Christmas and two people are very close to my heart this season. One of them we met in Korea and she became a good friend of us in a short time. She was staying with us for a while after we returned from travelling. One day after work she told me that she had just found out she had stage 3 cancer. Just like that. In a moment your whole life can chance. All the problems from before suddenly seemed ridiculously small to her and she was now thinking she might not have much longer to live. It has been amazing to see her faith when her life changed drastically. She did not curse God or became angry but instead she relied deeply on the fact that everything happens for a reason, and even though we may never understand the reasons she knew that God the Almighty was, is, and always will be in control of everything. It caused me to think of my spiritual walk and how I would react to such news. Do I just believe as long as everything is going well or will I still believe when I am in the pit?

The other person is the wonderful nurse that was there when Liam was born. She recently lost her 15 year old son in a tragic car accident. I can not even imagine the pain she is feeling. When I visited her I felt so helpless because nothing I would say or do would make the pain better or even go away. Death is so final. She showed me his room where everything was still like he left it that day. I felt only a fraction of her pain and of course also thought about Liam. Nothing is guaranteed in life. Nothing. And yet we live everyday as if we have forever and as if nothing could ever happen to us. ("Whereas you know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away." James 4.14)
Only one thing is guaranteed in life and that is death. In Hebrews chapter 9 verse 24 it says, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment". Do we realize that?! God is the one that gives life and he is the one that takes it away, but we are the ones that decide what to do with it. I am certain that if my life would end tomorrow I would meet my Savior. Why? Because he told me "I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." (1 John 5:13)

Merry Christ-mas to everyone!
