good enough?

So much has happend since we came back from the United States. My personal Highlight was to see my Grandfather in Germany who had just recovered from his open heart surgery. It was so special to see him interact with my children, especially with Lilli, who he met for the first time.
 There where some moments while I was in the States where all I could do is hope that Lilli would meet here great grandfather someday. I feel like writing great, great grandfather because he truly is a great man and means so much to me. Twice he barely escaped death and not even doctors where certain he will recover. He is doing fine now and even rides his bike again. What a blessing! Only by the Grace of God.

Just recently Lance, the children and I returned from a short trip from Scotland where we were to celebrate my Scottish Grandma's 90th Birthday. Again what a blessing to turn 90! She is an amazing woman and it seems like she still has more energy than me (-;
It was so sweet to see her with  Lilli. Old meets young. 90 years of age difference! Wow! and yet it goes by so quick. We start of so dependant and most times get so dependant again in the end.
While I took those precious  pictures I couldn't help but think that this soon will be history. Most likely both of these people will be gone in 10 years time and all that will be left is the memory and some sweet pictures. But they are Alive now and have the chance to meet their Savior.
When my granny received a letter from my brother in which he wrote about Jesus and God's Grace she told me to tell him "thank you" and that she "tries to be good".
Religion has indoctrinated in our heads that we need to "try to be good".We just need to live our live and hope that we will be GOOD ENOUGH for God one day. The bible says the opposite though. It teaches us that we can not be good enough. We need to accept the fact that we can never be good enough. But thankfully the message does not end here. Jesus was good enough. Because only perfect is Good enough for God. Thats why we need him as a Savior. Thats why we depent on his Grace. He died for us. He came to save what is lost and to heal what is sick and not for the ones that try to be good. His last words were not "It is finished, now do your part" his last words were "it is finished".
It is my hope and prayer that my Grandpa and Grandma and you will get to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

Romans 3:23-28
English Standard Version (ESV)

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24  and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. 26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

27  Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith. 28 For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.
