How It All Started

I knew I was pregnant before the test was able to give me the right result. Or should I say I had a feeling. A really big feeling, because I bought the test. Even though I knew that it would be really early (i.e almost impossible for it to show me the correct result) I was doing the pregnancy test hoping that it would be positive! Lance did so too and we both were a little disappointed when I came out of the bathroom and shook my head.

The test was negative, but the early symptoms of a pregnancy did not stop however... We travelled to the Island of Jeju the following weekend and had a wonderful time together. Then we came back to Kunsan and I could NOT wait any longer to take another test! The next day I was meeting my German friend Vicky for lunch in the BX while Lance was busy at work. We had some Taco Bell taquitos...but that is a little off the point. The point is that I did not even want to finish my lunch...I could not wait to get that test in the commissary. And had Vicky not stopped me by saying, "lets finish eating first" I would have dropped that taquito and ran. That is for sure.

Once I got the test in my hand the idea of driving back to the dorm room seemed outlandish to me (it would have been an extra 5 minutes). I wanted to do the test right then. This time I knew already that in order to have a positive result I would need that cross to show up. Vicky waited in front of the doors while I went trough the probably most exciting minute of my life. Once I saw the result I literally went speechless and as if I wanted a proof of what I had seen I showed Vicky without saying anything. When she figured out what it meant she went from saying it's a cross to shouting it's a cross!! I was so excited! There I stood in the commissary restroom hugging Vicky saying "I am pregnant" over and over again!!! In that moment another woman stepped out of one of the stalls which we believed we had for ourselves. She probably had a good time listening to us.

I could not wait to tell Lance the news. Since I knew he was working in the office that day I walked right in. When he saw me he gave me one of his lovely smiles and said "Hey Babe". I said, "I need to talk to you for a second, do you have time?" He asked "Sure. what happened?" It was such a beautiful moment to tell my husband that he would be a father! Lance teared up a little and had the happiest expression on his face before he gave me a big hug. It is truly a great blessing for a child to have two parents that love each other and are filled with joy by the thought of becoming parents. Lance and I could not have been more happy when we found out. The perfect timing. Gods timing.

I am about ten weeks pregnant now and every morning when I wake up I am happy to have our child growing inside of me! We'll keep you updated as the weeks go by!
