Safely Through The 1st Trimester

First of all I want to mention I am feeling fine again and want to thank the people who prayed for me. I still have to take some antibiotics, but feel 100% restored.

I heard the heartbeat again when I went back for a checkup and must say it is the most wonderful sound this world has to offer. It is so reassuring to hear and I marvel over the miracle that takes place inside of me. Our baby which is now the size of a Tangerine =) already has finger and toenails and if it is a girl the ovaries are already producing millions of eggs....so potentially I carry our future grandchildren inside me! Now, isn't that quiet something?!

We have only about 7 more weeks of breathing Korean air left and are looking forward to move on in our journey. It will be great to see both sides of the family before we move to the southeast USA. We have one last vacation planned with before the baby arrives which will take us to the island of Guam over Thanksgiving.

This past weekend we had the chance to meet up with our dear friends Chris and Kristina we met in Aviano. They have adopted two sibblings from the Ukraine just 4 months ago and it was great to see them as a family in Korea where they are now stationed. It was a blessing and we are so thankful for all the friends in our life. We hope this blog finds you all doing well and enjoying the Life that God has given you.

First Sounds Of A Heartbeat

Today Lana and I heard our Baby's heartbeat today for the first time! Lana is just over 11 weeks now, and the nurse said it was a strong beat. It's amazing to think our 1.5 inch Baby has a 4 chambered heart beating rapidly as it continues to grow inside Lana's womb! As soon as we heard the beat, Lana and I looked at each other with a big smile on our faces. It's another step along the way towards parenthood and makes it all seem more real. Sadly, the reason we were in the doctor's office is because Lana hasn't been felling well the past week..not morning sickness, but due to a urinary track turned kidney infection. Please pray for her as you read this. Thankfully she's starting to feel better, so not to worry.
Above is a picture of our little "peanut" at six weeks, already had a 4 chambered heart at this point! Sometime later in December Lana will have another ultrasound and we'll post another picture then. Enjoy!
